DO NOT IGNORE THE SIGNAL

If you are a dental professional experiencing recurring pain, the first step is acknowledgment. Just as we tell patients that healthy gums don't bleed, remember: a healthy body doesn't hurt. Do not ignore the signal.

Once you recognize the problem, here are the next steps:

aSSESS YOUR ENVIRONMENTS

Look closely at your ergonomics at work and your habits at home. Identify what triggers the pain and what relieves it.

aUDIT YOUR TOOLS

Research ergonomic tools that can be integrated into your workflow. Finding the right fit involves trial and error; not every tool works for every clinician.

STRENGTHEN YOUR BODY

Treat your body as your most important tool! Because dental work is inherently asymmetrical, your muscles are often used unevenly.

BODY RESTORE BALANCE

Are you stretching enough to counteract your posture? Building core strength and flexibility is essential to giving your body the balance it craves.
